The Ministry of Health in Vietnam (Viet Nam) has retrospectively confirmed an additional fatal case of H5N1 infection that dates back to July. The case, in a 35-year-old male farmer from Ben Tre Province, developed symptoms on 25 July and died on 31 July. The newly confirmed case brings the total in Vietnam (Viet Nam) since mid-December 2004 to 64 cases, of which 21 were fatal.
